Fear; what is fear?
Will the fear of failure stop us from failing?
Will the fear of heights stop us from falling from a great height?
Will the fear of losing stop us from losing?
Will they; or are they just an excuse not to try? A reason to stay in our comfort zone?
The question is; is fear real or just a perception?
A few weeks ago when I interviewed Matt Taylor he shared a story of when he finally realised fear was just a perception and how it enabled him to get out of his comfort zone and achieve far more than he had every dreamed.
Listen to Matt share the story of the pivotal point in his path to success.
What I find fascinating about this story is that Matt’s mentor realised a fear was holding Matt back from taking the next step. He didn’t know the exact fear so he worked on the one fear he knew Matt had and showed him how to think about that fear differently.
I absolutely love this statement from Matt’s Mentor and have written it on my whiteboard.
“When you see things differently you take different action”
This story will resonate with anybody struggling to take the next step in their life.
I hope you enjoy and learn from this story.
Your man thinking differently
P.S. I’d love to hear what you think of Matt’s story and the steps you are going to take to overcome your fears.
